31 October 2021 | “Naaman is healed”

2 Kings 5:1-14

Naaman is healed

Read the text…

Who you are becoming will define your life, not what you have done.

Don’t allow your identity to come from a place of accolades…

The voices you listen to the most in life help shape your identity…

VS 1 Naaman considered himself to be a great man because the king and others told him how great he was.

Let the loudest voice be from Jesus so you can become what He desires you to become

  1. God is more worried about who you are Becoming than what you’ve done.

VS 11 “I thought” Naaman wanted to experience healing on his own terms…

  1. In order to see God move in your life you have to Yield your will to His will

You can’t have it both ways…

Just like God’s timing is always perfect, God’s plan for your life is always perfect… Ephesians 2:10

God has prepared good works beforehand…

Even if it isn’t always how we planned it out… We have to submit to the will of The Father

VS 11-12

He was ready to go away mad because he was unwilling to be humble…

  1. Pride keeps you from experiencing Jesus

Pride makes it all about me… It’s hard to experience Jesus when it’s all about me…

We have to be humbled and made available for God to use us. (Conversion of Saul to Paul)

VS 14

Nothing indicated that each time he dipped in the Jordan anything would change.

He had to have faith to continue dipping in the Jordan

  1. Have to have Faith to stay in the process

Jesus said in this world we will have troubles

Read Romans 5:1-5

Our walk with Jesus is a process.

Look back at VS 1

The Bible calls Naaman a great man…

The end of this passage the Bible says he was like a young child…

  1. Naaman had done great things… But Naaman had to become different in order to be healed….
  2. Naaman had to yield his will to the will of the Father… He couldn’t get what he needed on his own terms…
  3. Naaman had to lay his pride aside in order to have an encounter with God…
  4. Naaman had to have the faith to not stop on the first 6 dips but follow through on the process laid before him.

And because he was able to surrender to the will of the Father he was able to be healed…

  1. True healing comes from a place of Surrender.
